Blank Touchscreen? U2200 Code?

When I turn my car on, the Ford logo appears but then the screen goes blank, absolutely nothing else works on the touch screen, not even the backup camera. I’ve done the soft reset, where you push the power and right seeking button for 10-15 seconds, it resets but then that same cycle is repeated, (ford logo, followed by blank screen) I’ve disconnected the negative cable, and then disconnected the negative and positive cable, still no fix, I can’t reach the fuses near the steering column so I can’t really check on those myself, and the owner's manual might be the wrong one because the numbers on the fuses don’t match the ones in my book.

I would do a CAN scan to see if any codes come up, you can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

here is a video to show you how:

Please go over these guides and get back to us.

Hey Ken, thank you! I’m going to try the CAN scanner and see what comes up when I’m able to get it. I figured I could go to Firestone, AutoZone or one of these other shops to have it done but no one had it, so I’ll just buy it and check it myself. I also Googled another issue that just started today (my horn randomly honked on it’s only 3 separate times) and what came up was the body control module.

If that’s the case is that something I can fix myself? (Not a mechanic) but YouTube university has helped me with a lot of repairs.

Yep, the BCM might be causing all of the problems, you may be able to fix it yourself, here are guides and video to help. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Here is how to change out the BCM, you can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thank you so much for all the information!
I got the $99 CAN scanner you recommended; this was the code that popped up when I ran the diagnostic.

Nice work, can you tell me what the code is? I am sorry but I can't read it. Also, are there any other codes?

Thank you! I thought I had gotten closer but now I’m more confused. Haha

The code is “U2200:00 AF CMDTCs”
That was the only code I could find, and I believe that has to do with the airbags (my airbag light does come on pretty often in my car).
3 modules come up as options, I believe the second module is the one with the code, but the two to others will say no code found.

Okay, the U2200 code in a 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid generally refers to a fault in the vehicle's battery system, particularly a "System Voltage Low" error.

So, it sounds like the battery is failing, let use this guide to help confirm the issue:

Hey, thank you again!
I got the battery tested and they said it’s 100% good, passed the test.
The cables look good as well, no corrosion.

I spoke to a service advisor at Ford and they said it sounds like it could be one of a few things, one of those things being the APIM module.

Yes, it could be that here is the location of the module, I would access the module and gently tap on it to see if the screen changes, if so, the module is bad. Check out the images (below). Please let us know how it goes.

Should I leave the car running, ignition on engine off, or just turn it off completely since it’s electrical?

You can just leave the system on without running the engine.

Sorry for the super late response! I’d gotten pretty sick and had been in the house for a while. I’m back to it now! I’m going to work on the task above, but also wanted to ask if you knew of a fuse that might be directly connected to the SYNC program that might be causing the issue.

I am glad you are feeling better, back to the repair! There are four fuses that run the system, #f33, f12, f13, and f32 in the BCM fuse panel, here is a guide to help you test the power and the fuse locations as well, I also have included the SYNC system wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works.
