The interior light was left on and the battery completely drained, I charged the battery and the car started. However, Audio alert shows up and radio does not work. Fuses are good. I went online and they suggested disconnecting the neg battery terminal and reconnecting to see if that works which I have not tried yet. If not disconnect both terminals hit the brake pedal to drain power(?) And touch the neg and pos cables together. Is the safe or what do you suggest?

Thank you,

Hi,

Here is what I want you to try. As mentioned, disconnect the battery terminals from the battery. With the battery disconnected take the positive and negative battery cables and tie them together using a zip tie or something similar.

Press the brake pedal for approximately a minute and then reconnect the battery, the positive first and then the negative terminal.

Now, you need to identify the initialization procedures in the owner's manual. My manuals don't provide them.

Also, after installing the battery cables, turn the key to the run position for approximately 10 seconds before starting it.

Let me know if this helps.

Joe
