Hi,

Normally, it is recommended to use what the vehicle came with. An AGM battery is designed a little differently which allows it to last longer, provide a more consistent power supply, and quicker charging, and is often used in vehicles that have a higher voltage need.

To answer your question, yes, you could use a traditional type. It will likely not last as long, but I don't see a concern with this vehicle.

Let me know if this helps.

Joe

Thanks very much Joe, I thought I might have made a big mistake, buy getting a flooded battery installed in my car yesterday. But I talked to a couple of other people, before you got back to me, and they told me they have had better luck by putting a flooded battery in their Chevrolet Cruze, with the start stop feature, hat the flooded battery. Last a lot longer than the original AGM Battery. Thanks again Joe, for your advice. Take care.

Joe, I have another question for you, If the inter cooler has ice buildup on it will you get a check engine light code? Also, will the dash monitor show engine power is reduced, and caused the transmission to not shift properly. Also, if that has happened to the Intercooler. Does it have to be replaced? I had the codes check there were 2 that were showing on the scanner, but both of them when I checked on the net, were showing that Bank1 number 2 oxygen sensor is bad. No codes were showing for a problem, with the trans, or the turbo.
