I have changed the battery and the alternator. I’ve had it tested and the new alternator charges the new battery but the light has not turned off. I recently removed to instrument cluster to clean inside but made sure to put everything back the same way. I hope that it didn’t cause this problem and anything helps. thanks

Hello,

If your battery is getting charged by your vehicle's alternator and the charge light is staying constantly on, then you probably have a short to power on the blue wire that goes into pin #14 of the green instrument cluster connector. This is the positive wire that goes to the charge indicator warning illumination lamp. In the diagrams down below I have included the wiring diagram for the instrument cluster and pinouts complete with callouts for the the two electrical connectors for the instrument cluster. I have also included a guide for finding shorts to power as well. Please go through these guide and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
