Automatic lift gate not working properly

Worked fine until someone opened and closed manually. Now does not respond to either switches or fob button. Does not lock completely when closed. Have tried the following:
With gate fully open, unplugged the two plugs for the actuator box on top of the pump in spare tire well, and held the button on driver's door in the lift position for 5 seconds with key in number two ignition position. No response.
Disconnected both battery terminals with gate closed, and put jumper wire between positive and negative cables to draw residual amperage from system. Left for 30 minutes. Reconnected battery and gate opened automatically when battery connected but won't close with switches or fob.

Hello,

It sounds like the rear end closing control module is out. This can happen when the door is closed because the motor is forced to run creating feedback voltage which the module does not like. Here is the location of the module and the lift gate wiring diagrams as well so you can see how the system works. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
