Map sensor wiring connector was removed from sensor while motor going, a sound like pressure collapse, was heard, put connector back on, looked at dash, engine light on, stayed on for a while then eventually went off, but when shifting into drive a bit of delay then goe's in seems alright when traveling, only now when warmed up speed drops down to low, have to bring speed up a touch with accelerator to get it to move into drive, reverse seems okay.

Hi,

We need to start with making sure codes get cleared. Then we need to monitor what the MAP sensor is telling the ECM. The ECM using this and TPS to determine shift points so if unplugging the sensor has altered this sensor then we need to reset it by clearing codes and possibly doing a battery disconnect.

Just so I understand you did this and now the only thing wrong is it shifts differently? If so, just make sure the MAP and TPS are not plugged into each other. I think they are interchangeable on this vehicle because they are on an Accord and this was built off of an Accord.

Welcome to 2CarPros. Okay, the first thing to do is try a simple power down and see if it resets the PCM. For this you just disconnect the battery negative cable. Leave it off for about 5 minutes. Reconnect it and take the car for a drive. It may need to relearn the idle speed so while you have the battery cable off, remove the intake air duct where it connects to the throttle body and use some throttle body or carburetor cleaner to wipe out any of the carbon or dirt build up inside the throttle body. Sort of like in this guide but without removing anything other than the intake air tube to just get access to it.

Wipe out as much as possible. Spraying a bit of cleaner in won't hurt anything but don't blast an entire can in there.
Once that is done, reconnect the air tube and the battery cable and start it. It may stumble a bit from the cleaner but should start to clear out almost instantly. See if it will now idle OK. If it does see if the hesitation is now gone. If yes, congratulations. If not feel free to return and yell at me, and we can see if there is another problem.
