2001 Audi A4 Alarm/security system

On hot days, (the car is black) the alarm system is activated for no apparent reason. In at least one instance, the alarm sounded when the system was not in the alarm mode.

What could be causing this.

As an aside, in two instances (drive axles and oxygen sensors) the replacement parts that matched were from the 2002 model line.

The first step would be to scan the modules with a factory scan tool. There is an alarm module and it has the capability of detecting faults and storing a history of activations. It should store a code of which sensor caused the alarm to activate, then you could trace down the problem from there.
