1996 Audi A4 Manual 100000 miles

i have an audi a4 96 1.8. My engine was over heating so I filled with coolant/water and all was well but now the oil temp goes through the roof. Its fine when just started in the morning but after 5/10 miles it steadily rises to maximum if I dont stop. Both water and oil tanks are pouring out steam. Then after I stop for 10 minutes I get about 2 miles before I need to stop again. Does anyone know what could be causing this. Any help please

Hi there,

You will have to get the cooling system checked over for faults, thermostat, cooling fans, radiator blocked, pressure cap and coolant leaks will all be a possible cause, also a head check for a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder heads, start here, this should be do ASAP or serious engine damage can result.
