I am due for ATF drain and fill but the instructions call for me to raise the ATF temperature to 104F to attain the right fluid level when filling up. my question is, If i drain 3.4L and and fill 3.4L, do i need to go thru the additional steps of raising the temperature to 104F and putting the car in VSA maintenance mode and switch the gears manually up to gear 4 or will the drain and fill of exact quantity suffice?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

If the fluid is full presently, that should work.

You should check the level first to be sure you are replacing the full/correct amount.

No problem. You mentioned that you would measure the amount you remove and then replace the same amount. That is fine if the transmission is full presently. If it is low and you do that, it will be low if you put the same amount back into it.

Basically, whatever the level is now will be the same if you put the same amount back into the transmission as you take out.
