I recently purchased and had a key fob programmed to my car. My spouse has a key to the car but she does not yet have a fob. She attempted to start the car, and the anti-theft light came on. She turned the car off and attempted to start it again, and all of the vehicle's lights flashed, went dark, and her key was stuck in the ignition in the "on" position. I got home about forty five minutes later and managed to get the key out using a manual release in the steering column. However, now the car just remains completely dark, no dash or any other lights come on, and it tries to keep my key, I have to use the manual release as well. Not sure if this is an anti-theft feature, a drained battery issue or both? We did not have any of these problems until we got the key fob.
