I need some info.

The first thing that comes to mind is high resistance in spark plugs. Unless you have weak plug wires, plugs could be the only logical answer.

That`s what I thought, I asked him about it and he told me he just replaced them with a fresh set of NGK`s Platinum and new set of wires.

Since he changed the plugs and spark plug wires and with top of the line plugs it sounds like he checked everything, is his plug boots on securly?

My way, check it with an ohmmeter from point A to B it doesn't matter whether its a mile long of wire and if it goes over 30,000ohms -Shit Can It. Let the customer or? Replace it-if in doubt-replace it.

The only way it will arc is high resistance/open-there's no science or magic to it.

See if he can run the ignition system on an oscilloscope, you will be able to isolate the individual problem lead or leads. Check firing voltages and all those cool things that the customers look at and go what the hell is all that. That's the way I would be heading.

Any way the bad plugwire will come out as a sore thumb by jipping sky high that's how it should look in the TV.

Electricity finds a path of least resistence. I have seen a new pair of wires arc. The wires were new but the quality was far from being good. When quality wires were installed it stopped. Just another thought. Do I buy wires for $10 or good wires for $30
