1999 Ford Expedition Battery Light Blinking

we have a 99 expedition and we replaced the battery last year and today when we we're driving the battery light keeps on blinking a light red, but when you hit 40 mph it blinks a really dark red, but it doesn't drive any different. We can't figure out what could cause it, we thought maybe the alternator but not sure. Anyone have any idea? please help! -meg

to start off i would stop by most any part store and have a load test run on your battery and alternator it will tell you either your battery has a dead cell or your alternator isnt putting out the correct voltage.... good luck :)
