2003 Galant: No heat

I have a 2003 Galant 83,000 miles. The heat doesn't work. I was told to look for leaks on the floor that would indicate a radiator problem, but my radiator is fine. Could my heat be an electrical problem or do I need to replace my heat core? Thanks.

Heater works fine except for the flapper door that allows the hot air to get into the passenger compartment. How can I get to it and repair it?

Thanks,
Tim

Tiffany- Don't assume you need a new heater core if the heat does work occasionally. You might have the same problem as me when it works sometimes and doesn't during others. My problem is the flapper door (there is a clicking sound when you turn the heat on and it goes away after a bit, that's the gear trying to catch on the door to open it) doesn't open allowing the hot air to get in. Should be an easy fix if I could get someone to tell me how to reach it. I'm guessing you'd have to go through the dash, but the Haynes manual I have doesn't talk about it.

Thanks for the response. I will definately suggest that issue to my repair man. I hope you find a solution (and me too), before fall settles in.

I have the same problem. Please help.

The dial does not move the air falpper to the right location its stuck on "face" and wont move to "defrost" or "feet" or anything.
Also,
when I push in the "arrow" button to have the air circulate in the car or get air from outside the car. I get that clicking sound you all are talking about.
Mostly the falpper I have no idea how to get into my dash without making another problem and I cant defrost. Again please help post or email me please. Thank you everyone.

I decided to "wait and see" with my heater problem and now everything is ok. I don't know how, but the flapping sound went away and the heat works. If you can, waiting might not be a bad idea. Maybe the older my car gets, the better it works. :D
