2002 Sunfire

I have a 2002 Sunfire and every once in a while and becoming more frequent, there is a sound that emits from the steering column that sounds like rubber on top of rubber, It happens when the car is cold and warmIt happens whether I turn the wheel a small bit or alot. Hers hoping you can let me know what the problem may be.I have been to ld that there is a issue with the steering in the 2002 sunfires.
