2002 Expedition sluggish power

Hi. I drive a 2002 Expedition. For the past couple of weeks I have only driven my truck twice and both times it ran perfect and was running perfect before then. But a couple days ago I decided to clean the engine area with some degreaser and hosed it down with some water. I waited a while for the engine to dry before I drove. But now I am having problems. When I start to drive, the truck feels as though it is getting somewhat sluggish power and vibrates a little. But once I get up to about 70ish it runs fine. My friend thought that it may be misfiring, but why would it do that all of a sudden? I thought that maybe something got wet thats not supposed to be and hasnt dried yet. Any ideas?

I hope the engine was cold when you washed it. The heat will condense water in a lot of places. The best start is to remove a plug wire one at a time and spray it with DW-40 on each end. Remove the connectors to the coil packs and do the same. Wait about 10 minutes and see how the engine performs.

Many people don't know but the WD stands for water displacement. It is flamable that is the reason for the wait.

OPen the hood and start the engine in complete dark and see if you see any odd sparking. Have you set a check engine light?

Yeah the engine was cold when I cleaned it. I knew better than to do that when it was hot.

I thought that it may have been something to do with the spark plugs. And yes I have seen the check engine light

Have the codes taken (auto zone does it free) and you will probably see a missfire code. It will tell you the cyl and then you can correct that cyl misfire
