1994 mer. Grand marque won't come out of park

When I start the car and it is running I can't get the shift lever to move out of park. If I shut it off and turn the ign. Key on I am able to shift it to neutral and start the car there and everything runs fine from that pos. :Roll:

Found a broken wire on brake switch. Ford motor co. Wants you to have your foot on the brake petal when you take your car out of park. The switch disengages a pin in the shifting lever enableing you to move the shifting lever
