Does the fluid look brown and smell bad? If it does you do not want to change fluid or filter. For a cheap temp fix you can try the lucas trans additive. It help mine together for 2 months untill I got past christmas.

Try to find someone with a scanner to see if all is working correctly.

Hey,
Why does the transmission seem like it is overfilled. Can I still put the Lucas Trans additive in there.

Are you checking with the motor running? If not you have to check it while running. Start it up. Hold the brake and go from reverse to drive a few times then recheck fluid level.

I re-checked the transmission it was a better reading with the tips you gave. Thanks again. So I went to the Auto store Kragen. He drove the care and stated my transmission is gone. He also stated I could buy the additive but most likely I will be stranded some where.I dont want that to happen. So I guess Im in the market for a new vehicle. I didnt even ask how long I can drive this car on the streets at 25 miles per hour. Thanks youve been most informative.

Hate to hear that but a new trans is still alot cheaper than another car. Exspecially if you are buying used. You may end up with the same problem then. Plus if you get your trans fixed you know what shape your car is in. Dont know where you are fom but we have salvage yards that only carry vehicals with low milage and parts are very reasonable. And mechanics are suckers for a distressed woman. We will take off of work to help you out.

I'm in San Francisco, California. I think there is a Pick ur Part across the Bridge in Oakland. Where's your shop? I think I might have to hire a mechanic to go with me to pull this part. What you think?
