Brakes problem
1977 Questions for all other cars V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic N/A miles

I have a 1977 Scout II and my brake lights do not turn on. They were working fine and suddenly did not work. I replaced the fuse and the bulbs, only the quarter lights work but do not get bright when the brakes are pressed.

Inspect and test the brake switch-follow the brake pedal arm till it meets up with the support bracket. Disconnect the switch and jumper the connector and see what happens.

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by jumper the connector. I've never had this problem. Thanks

Nothing happened, I also switched the brake switch from my 1978 scout and it still didn't work. Although the one I took out of my 77 that I thought didn't work, worked on my 78. You think there might be a short in the wiring. Lost
