Alarm light

I was just driving down the road and the blue indicator light went off on the black-box attached to the windshield. I just bought the SUV and not very familiar with the system. also does the alarm still active even if the light is not on. any ideas what this could be?

Can you get a picture of this light and we can figure out what is going on? Also, when you say is the alarm still active even when the light is not on? Which light are you talking about? The alarm indicator? See attached.
