So I drive the vehicle listed above (N47). Anyways, a few weeks ago I got an engine light, when I checked the code it was a P0101, I thought not much of it and figured maybe cleaning out the MAF sensor would help so I ordered the cleaner for it and I also ordered a new air filter, I thought worse case scenario I would need a new MAF sensor, but now I've been getting the pending code P115C along with the pending P0101. The question I have is, could these codes be fixed with a new Air Intake Breather Pipe? It might sound like a longshot but I noticed it isn't really staying seated properly (wiggles a little) and after I changed the air filter I did notice a good bit of oil was dripping from it the days after onto the EGR valve. I'm going to replace it anyways to prevent any leak but I am wondering if that could be what is throwing up the P115C at least seeing as it does connect into the intake. Thanks for any help in advance. (The photo included is the pipe in question)

It is hard to know for sure but this may be a sign of a larger issue. If you have oil in the intake then that could be just normal over time or it could be due to a higher amount of blow by and it is pushing oil into the intake system. However, to answer the first questions, a new filter, MAF, and breather pipe may fix this. These codes are saying that the MAF is not reading correct and that it is saying there is too much air coming in based on the other sensor readings.

So if you have oil in the intake then that is most likely the cause of the MAF to fail and set these codes. We do not have a manual on the N47 engine but these codes are basically the same for the N52 so I added the info below for this.

However, you can try and clean the MAF using this guide below and see if that helps:

If it does not then we are going to have to find where the oil is coming from and that could be the EGR but I would do a compression check just to make sure you don't have a ring issue.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

Let us know what you find and we can go from there.
