The air conditioning in my car stopped working recently. I assumed that it just needed recharging and so took it to ATS who recharged it. At first it seemed like this had worked, however after less than a week the AC stopped working again. At almost the same time as the AC stopped working, the compressor seized and the power steering belt snapped. I am not sure how these things are related but it seems like a big coincidence if they are not. Has anyone heard of anything like this happening before, or have any idea what could be the problem with the AC?

Good morning.

If the compressor seized, it failed internally and needs to be replaced. It is belt driver and when it seized, the belt failed from trying to make it work.

You need to replace the compressor, receiver/dryer and flush the system to get the system to work again. You also need to replace the broken belt as well.
