Good morning,

I attached a picture of the location and the procedure for you for the repair.

It is behind the front bumper cover down low at the bottom of the compressor.

How did you determine the sensor is bad? What is the issue?

A/C was blowing hot air. I checked the refrigerant, but the level was good. The clutch was not engaging. I took the relay out and "jumped" it, using a paperclip. The clutch does engage. With it engaged I got cool air. It looked like the A/C was being locked out. I tapped the sensor and the A/C began to run. I replaced the sensor. Now the clutch will cycle on and off when the system is charged fully. I was under the impression that the sensor (the one on your picture), was the low pressure sensor. Thinking that a high pressure sensor is now the culprit, I purchased one. I am not sure where it is located.
Did I replace the high pressure sensor with a low sensor? If I did, where is the low pressure sensor located?
Are both sensors included in the system?
Thank you very much for all of your assistance!

How do you know it is fully charged?

I need the reading of the high and low side with the engine running.

I had the car hooked up to a dual gauge. It was reading 45 psi on low and 150 psi on high. With it that high the clutch kept cycling. I just now hooked it up to the dual gauge again. Now it is 36 psi on low and 48 psi on high. I added refrigerant, but then it started cycling again. It is back at 36 low and 48 high and working well. I don't have a thermometer to put on it, but the air was cool to cold. It has been colder in the past.

Thanks again,

Mike

Okay, 36 on low and 48 on the high side tell me the compressor is no good.

The low side should be 25-30 rock solid. the high side should be 2 times outside temperature plus 15%.

You need a compressor.

Okay, looks like I'll be replacing the compressor. The condenser is bowed in, where it has been hit in the past. I was thinking about replacing that, too. I have seen videos stating that other parts should also be replaced. Having not heard any "grinding" from the compressor, I am wondering if anything else needs to be replaced. Your videos are very good, so I think I'll perform the evacuate and charge myself, also. Again, thank you very much for all of your assistance!
