When the A/C was on I could see the air almost mist/fog coming from vent?

I’ve had the A/C on last week and noticed a smell, foul smell like something had gone off in the car but that’s calmed down. However, today when it was on, I noticed you could see the air almost mist/fog coming from vent. Any ideas?
