Yes, I just replaced the thermostat in my car and it immediately started to overheat as soon as I took it for a test spin! I do not know where to look for the temperature sensor and would love it if I could see where it is exactly and maybe any advice as I continue this next step. I would very much appreciate any help I can get!

Hi Davoyllek,

I attached the location of the sensor. First one is SOHC and the second is DOHC depending on which one you have.

As for your issue, how quickly does it overheat and is this the same thing it did before the thermostat?

If so, I would suggest using an infrared temperature meter to find out what the actual temperature is on various points on the engine. This will help you find out if the sensor is accurate.

Also, here is a guide that will help point out the other common causes. Let me know what you find with this information or if you need more info about something specific and I will be happy to assist. Thanks
