1996 Acura TL Intermittent heat but fan and A/C work

The heater on our Acura blows cold (unheated air) most of the time and only occassionally blows hot air regardless of how the temperature gauge set set, the fan setting or how the heat is directed (toward our feet, toward our face, etc.).

The cooling level is full and the radiator and thermostat were recently replaced (not due to the heater problem).

Okay, I need you to check someting. With the engine running, warm, and the heater on high, feel both heater core hoses at the firewall (under hood). Both should be hot.

Let me know what you find.
