The rear vents are not blowing air at all and while the front dashboard vents still blow cold air, the levers that change the flow direction are broken. The dealer wants several hundred dollars to replace the broken flow directors. Can I do this myself? How do I take the vents apart? Could the flow to the rear vents be disconnected?
Any advice is appreciated.

Hi les37043,

The rear blower fan not blowing could be due to a faulty fan motor. You would have to chack if it is control, power supply or component fault.

Replacing the flow directors is not a major job and can be done easily if you are DIY person.

There is no necessity to disconnect the rear vents as no air would flow if the motor is not operated.
