Electrical problem
1991 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

My distributor shaft broke inside the distributor about 4 months ago. I replaced it with a new one (not rebuilt but new $230). About a month or so later it quit again this time the shaft wasn"t broken just quit. Then a month or so later it quit again. Same thing. Luckily it has a lifetime warranty. My question is could it be an electrical overloading issue or something else. Should I use a voltmeter on the wires going to it or what. This is driving me crazy.

Hi zanycat67,

When the distributor quit the second and 3rd time, what were the problems? Faulty ignition coil or ICM?

Distributors should not be failing under such regularity. The power source is battery voltage and the only way they could be failing could be the quality of the part.
