I noticed that when I turn the steering wheel to the left it makes a squeking sounding. After I straighten out the steering wheel and drive I hear what sounds like a chain rattle for a couple of seconds while driving then it the sound stops. Could it be my cv joints are bad?

Hi 2gtherwecan,

Normally the CV joints would not squeak but the rattling noise I am not sure.

Look for an open space for making full turns.
Turn steering full turn and engage 2nd gear, accelerate, if crocking noise is heard, the CV joint is bad, left turn = right CV joint, vice versa.

Check for torn driveshaft boots, if any is torn, the joint should require replacement.
