Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body and move the cable back and forth while disconnected and see if it is still difficult to move the cable. If it is hard to move, replace the accelerator cable. If it is not hard to move then move on to the throttle body. Remove the intake tube from the throttle body and inspect the throttle body plate and surroundings for coking. Clean the throttle body (clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner. You can find this cleaner at most retail auto parts suppliers) and plate and remove any black residue from the throttle body and throttle body plate. This coking can cause the throttle plate to stick and become hard to move (as long as the cable and accelerator pedal hinge is good) especially when engine warms up.
