I bought the car listed above for my daughter. I thought the A/C not working would be a simple recharge fix and id be done. But I have now spent an entire weekend trying to find the problem with my dad who has always been able to fix anything, and it just can’t be diagnosed.

I have tried the following:
Pulled a vacuum and recharged with Freon. The Compressor will only come on if you jump start it with a paper clip and then with the paper clip in place the A/C will be cold air, but the A/C fan never kicked on.

We checked all the relays and fuses for the A/C, fan, etc. There is power at the fuse box but there is no power at the A/C fan when the A/C is turned on. We have replaced the relays just to make sure it’s not them and it wasn’t.

My dad thought the next step may be to try a new computer for the car but wanted me to get a professional opinion. So, I found your website and I am hoping you can assist with some other ideas. The computer will be an expensive one most likely.

We know there is still Freon holding in the lines because we checked that before stopping for the day. Any help would be so appreciated!

I will be more than happy to help you get the A/C working, I would start by checking for power at the all of the fuses that run the system (6) here is a guide to help check for power, I have included the A/C wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works and which fuses to test. Test the fuses with the key on, and if they are okay check the system ground which the diagrams show as well. You might want to try to do a CAN scan which does the entire car and the scanner are cheap (about $35.00 on Amazon).

Here is a video and guide to show you how:

If the grounds and power are good let's try to jump the low-pressure switch which I have included the location for as well. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
