My daughter's car had only cool air coming out of vents. The compressor was making a rattle noise so we replaced it. The A/C is still only cool air not cold. The mechanic wants to put a condenser in now. Could it be something else? I hate to keep doing repairs and not getting her A/C to work properly. Help

He needs to check the high and low side pressure in order to determine what the issue could be. I assume he has already done this so we need to know what they are when the engine is running and A/C is on.

Let us know this info and then we can take the next steps based on that info. Thanks

You said it had a rattle, did the shop mention if the system needed to be flushed to remove debris? A failing compressor can put a lot of junk into the system that gets trapped in any tight places like the dryer and condenser. Sometime a good flush can clean it out but it doesn't always work. That may be why he is suggesting replacement.
