Compressor turns freely with hand, A/C on driver side is only cold when driving, warm at idle, passenger side is always warm, is this a common issue on these trucks?

Hello,

It sounds like you have two problems. the first is the system is low on charge which we can fix by watching this video.

https://youtu.be/uZrQCGwXfek

The second problem is the passenger side blend door actuator needs to be replaced. here is a guide to walk you through the repairs and diagrams below to show you how on your car:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

I was going to check the Freon on it but the compressor never comes on, not unless it's first thing in the morning when you start it, but haven't tried checking it early AM, if its anytime after that the compressor is off until I drive and she starts to cool, also, the condenser fan is off when I park it after I drive it, not sure if the fan needs to be working first for the compressor to come on or that fan comes on later, from what I have seen on different vehicles if the fan isn't working the cooling has issues, but if its low on Freon then why is it that the driver is very cold when I drive only?

It can be low or it could be the compressor is going out along with the passengers blend door actuator. The high side pressure should be about 250 on a hot day.

This guide should help:

Please run down this guide and report back.

Am more familiar with German and Japanese cars, is the condenser fan supposed to come on immediately once the A/C compressor or the A/C is on?

Its comes on when the pressure gets to high in the system is all. If the pressure never reaches the upper limits the fan will not run. This guide will help check the high side pressure
