When my car is in pass mode or going up a hill the A/C blows on high even if it’s off.

Can you get a video of this? I just want to try and understand if the blower is actually changing speed or is there just more air coming through the vents? Clearly the blower motor has nothing to do with the speed of the engine but the acceleration of the vehicle could force more air in. However, you would think this would remain consistent with the increased speed. This is why seeing it will help get us on the same page.

As it stands, based on this information I can only assume that with the raise in RPM the alternator spins faster and sends more voltage to the blower. Kind of like a power surge but this doesn't really make sense because there are multiple redundancies and the speed control of the blower motor is controlled by the HVAC control module and not directly tied to battery voltage.

Let's get the video and go from there. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I can try to get a video tomorrow. But I can try to explain more. It’s definitely the blower turning on when the passing but usually only at higher speeds. So it has something to do with the rpm's. Also I just had an A/C resistor replaced so I don't know if it’s that’s the cause. My mechanic hasn’t had time to look at it yet so I am trying to see what you guys think the problem is. Thanks again.

Okay. That is interesting. I can only assume this is related to the resistor but let's start with the video just so we are on the same page.

Also, can you try to get the part number of the resistor that you had replaced? I just want to make sure we are talking about the same part. Thanks
