Hi,

That could be caused by a few different things. First, take a look through this link and let me know if it helps:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-air-conditioner-not-working-or-is-weak

Next, when you turn it on, do you hear the compressor engage? It would sound like a click, and you may notice the engine RPM's slightly change. If not, then try adding freon. Here is a link you may find helpful.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/air-conditioner-how-to-add-freon

If you do hear the compressor engage, I would still confirm the system is charged. If it is, then suspect there is an issue with the blend air door. This door is responsible for the air temperature entering the vehicle.

Since the vehicle has such low mileage, have you contacted a dealer to see if they can repair it under warranty? See pic below.

Let me know what you find or if I can help.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you very much for the link and your answer. It's very helpful. I followed the guide from the link to test the compressor, condenser fan, relay. All are good. I can't check the Refrigerant because the connector from the AC gauge/recharge kit is not fit with the low pressure line of the MDX 2019. I don't know why. Is there any special adapter for it?

Thanks

Hi,

Make sure you are on the low-pressure line. It won't fit the high pressure and certainly, don't try attaching to it.

Since everything is working and you hear identified the compressor is working, the problem is likely in the vehicle. If you told me the A/C just wasn't cold enough, then I would check the charge. Note: The compressor wouldn't turn on if the Freon was too low.

So, that leaves what is called a bend air door. This is in the vehicle and responsible for the air temperature entering the cabin. However, there are two of them, one for the driver's side and one for the passenger's side. I don't feel both would fail at the same time. But I'm not 100% sure what you are experiencing.

You indicated the A/C isn't working properly. Does it work at all? Explain the symptoms.

I will watch for your reply.

Thanks for your quick reply.

When I turn on A/C, cool air (not cold air) blows out from all the vents (front, back on both driver and passenger sides). I used an electronic refrigerant detector to check for the leaks but couldn't find any. I also tried to connect AC Pro Car Air Conditioner Recharge Gauge and Hose Dispenser to the low-pressure side port, but it doesn't fit. Please help!

Thanks

Do you have any control over the temperature entering the vehicle? For example, does the heater work?

If not, I would remove the air mix door actuator motor and confirm it is operating and the linkage to it is properly attached and not binding.

I attached the directions for the passenger side mix air door motor removal. Consider removing it and checking to see if it is operating properly when you change temperatures. When it is removed, it should be in the max cool position. Make sure the system is also in the max cool position when reinstalling it.

Let me know.

Joe

See pics below. Note: I am basing this on the AC compressor turning on. Also, this should be under the manufacturer's warranty. You may want a dealer to check what is happening. It isn't making sense to me. It would be odd for both actuators to fail at the same time and the compressor is working.

Hello Joe,

Thank you very much for your guide.

The heater is working good.

I will contact the dealer tomorrow. Hopefully the car is still under warranty.

Hello Joe,

I contacted the dealer to make an appointment. They told me that if they cannot fix the A/C problem, I have to pay for diagnostics. It will cost me around more than $200.00. It doesn't make sense to me because my car is still under warranty. I requested to talk to the service manager, but he never called me back. What should I do?

Thanks,

If they "can't" fix the A/C? They are a dealership. Who better to take it to?

Try again to reach the service manager. If you can't, in the rear of the owner's manual you should be able to find a customer relations phone number for Acura. Contact them and ask what they recommend. They usually get the ball rolling.

Let me know.

I tried to reach the service manager and left my phone number for him but he never called me back. Already made an appointment for this Friday, and I want to come to talk to them. If I contact them by phone, I will be waiting for ever.

I will let you know.

Thanks,

Hi Joe,

I finally I have my car fixed. Sorry it takes a long time to reply. I was tested positive for
Covid so I couldn't take the car to the dealer for repair.

The problem was the A/C blow only cabin temperature air. The heater works fine. This is the case even in the back part of the vehicle.

The technician at dealer found a leak at suction hose O-ring where firewall lines connected to soft hose. He replaced O-ring and performed EVAC and recharge leak test.

I appreciate all your help,
