Not a good thing. The pump does not like to have any air in it as it destroys the pump. This also is not a DIY type of job. You need to drain the system to replace the lines (and possibly the pump) and that means you need to be able to control the system through a scan tool to bleed the pumps and verify some settings. I would look for a Mercedes oriented shop and see what they figure the cost will be.
