I am getting cold air out of my left passenger side vent only. The other three vents blow warm to hot air. My compressor seems to be working fine. From the research I have done, I suspect I have a blend door actuator that has failed. My question is, where is this located and is it something I could possibly replace myself?

Hello, and thanks for your question!

It does sound like the air mix door actuator has stuck or is having trouble reaching the desired location for all vents to have cold air. If all of the vents blow out of the same place when you select Defrost, Floor, etc. Then I would check this. You just need to remove the lower glovebox finisher (circled below), which is the lower plastic piece covering the bottom of the glovebox. From there you will be able to see this actuator moving when you move the temperature knob. I would move the temperature knob and watch the motor turn and hopefully catch it slipping or stopping short of where it needs to go. If this part does not have a visible gear on the outside to see, take it out and look at it directly. In any case, I attached the diagrams and instructions below. Let us know if you need anything else, we are here to help.

Thanks for using 2CarPros,
