Hi, vehicle listed above is a c30 with a 350 engine. I was recently driving my old work truck down a back road and all of a sudden shut off. At first I thought huh ran out of fuel because gauge was low? So I walked home brought back gas poured in carburetor still no start. So maybe a ignition wire came loose or something or coil wire. Going to check for spark later. Maybe if you guys have an idea what happened let me know. Thanks

Hello, I'm Danny.

Well, if truck was running fine and then just quit, It should have started after pouring gas into the carburetor. Yes, I do believe your truck is not getting spark like you mentioned. That would be the first thing is to pull a plug wire or wires off to see if you're getting spark to the cylinders. I'm pretty sure you have a non-hei distributor and might want to check the points and condenser.Try this first and let us know and we'll go from there. Here is a tutorial to look at:

Hello again.

Okay, being an hei that eliminates a few problems considering electronic ignition is way more reliable. Possibly the coil might be bad. Just let me know if you're getting spark on a few different cylinders as a start. Have a great 4th holiday and get back to me when you can. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Okay, so I put a test light on one of the coil outlets while ignition turned on and no test light. So I put a good used coil on and fired right up in less than 3 seconds.
