Hi,

It been a month, and the 4LO, engine light and traction control light came on but the car drove normal. After a couple of weeks, the car doesn't accelerate at throttle. The acceleration is extremely slow. The gears change but again the RPM goes up very slowly so the entire process is slow. The fault code is P2442.

What could be the potential issue here? Could it be gear oil change and filter cleanup?

Thanks,
Arslan

Hello,

The P2442 is for the "Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Open Bank 2 but that shouldn't have an effect on the engine performance. It sounds like the engine is going into limp mode due to a dirty throttle bore. Let fix this problem first and then clear the codes. Here are two guides to help us:

and

Please run down these guides and report back.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for help on the issue. I have done the needful as instructed. Kept the ignition on and depressed the accelerator and cleaned the necessary area. Used the OBD to clear the errors. I will drive the car for a few days and see how it goes and report back. Hopefully this fixes the problem. Pictures attached. Fingers crossed.
Regards,
Arslan

So the issue came back after after just 2 days. I eventually went ahead and replaced both Air Injectors. One of them indeed has stopped functioning. Now all well and acceleration back to normal, rather feels bit more responsive than usual. Cost me about $400.00 in total. Thanks for the help!!
