While driving on a hilly terrain the 4LO, check engine and TRC indicators came on and stayed on. It seemed the turbo stopped working. I finished my trip home. After switching off the engine I tried restarting and it delayed before start. What do you figure is the problem?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

The first thing I would suggest is to have the computer scanned to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes. The turbo, 4Lo indicator, traction control don't seem to correlate with each other. Something turned the check engine light on, so we need to identify the codes stored. They should point you in the right direction.

Here is a quick video that shows how to retrieve codes:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but often times a parts store will lend or rent one. You really should start there.

Also, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so my technical information is extremely limited. However, if you get the codes, I should be able to determine the problem.

Take care and let me know what you find.

Joe

Is it possible that this could be that the battery needs to be changed?

Welcome back:

With today's cars, yes. A weak battery can cause issues. What you could do is take it to a parts store and have them load test the battery. Most all parts stores will do it for free hoping to sell a new battery. However, if you can get the vehicle there, make sure to have them scan the computer. In most cases, they will do that for free, too.

I will watch for your response.

Take care,
Joe
