Hello everyone,

I have the vehicle listed above vxr and it was bought used. Yesterday I went ahead and wanted to test the 4lo and the other systems. At first the car was perfect there were no problems what so ever but when tried to turn on the 4lo system the car give me a blinking 4lo sign along with ABS sign and when I tried to turn it back to normal I felt like the car isn't getting my request to turn it back to normal 4ho. It kept on flashing the 4lo light along the abs light and I couldn't turn back off any of the signs. A fact might help; I had to drive back home with the car and the car seemed normal like nothing was changed but of course the lights were there both 4lo and ABS.

What does those to lights mean? And how could be the problem? Is there a way to fix it or to turn these lights off?

Hello,

Generally speaking when the light blinks the ECU is detecting that the actuator didn't engage fully and is most likely stuck. The fact that it didn't engage to begin with is probably from lack of usage. My data isn't showing the 4.6l in that year I show a 5.7 only so I have attached a pic of the dash and the switch location. If you can verify its the same then we can continue properly. Double check the date it was made sometimes a car made at the end of one year is actually the next year early release. I attached an image of the actuators location. It should make a sound when its' trying to engage if you can try to be under there and see if you hear anything while someone hits the switch. You can tap it gently and it may free up. If you clear the computer the light might go out if the actuator hasn't moved at all. You can do this by disconnecting both battery terminals and shorting them together for about 30 seconds.
Give that a shot and let us know.
