So in March of this year my truck's (1500) transmission started slipping in overdrive. When I dropped the transmission pan down I noticed my front servo had a small crack in it. I changed the fluid and filter and the throttle body sensors and it seemed to help but, it still jumps every once in a while in overdrive. I was wondering if I need to drop the transmission down to replace the servo? Directions would be great! I have rebuilt manual transmissions but I do not know to much about automatic transmissions! Any help would be great! IT has a 46re transmission Thanks!

Usually the servo housing is part of the case. Do you have a picture of what you are looking at?

Yes, just found one on the internet. The housing is not cracked it is the bottom round piece.

It looks like you can change that out without removing the transmission there is a pin that holds the lever arm in to the case which you will need to remove. Here is a guide on the servo so you can see what you are in for it will be spring loaded so be careful.

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Thanks so much, I will let you know. It is just my work truck so I am not in a big hurry, it is not a daily driver. I will probably do it within the next one to two months though.
