Hi, Antenna base broke and I see the chips exposed now and the highlighted piece to connect to mast is broken. I am planning to buy universal shark fin cover to cover that since FM works okay and replacing the antenna properly will require accessing head liner and expensive. Is there any risk related to short circuit or something because of leaving it not fixed and just covering it with shark fin model cover.

I am attaching the picture where the part broken. FM still works. AM not working. I don’t use both. Is it safe to drive just by covering it with a universal shark fin antenna cover to make it waterproof?

Because of the circuit board this will need to be waterproof, will the shark fin make it so? You might want to cover it with a piece of plastic first and seal it with silicone rubber.

Universal Shark Antenna will cover the whole antenna circuit and make it waterproof since it sticks using adhesive tape. Just FM/AM won’t get better since they don’t have real antenna connection. Mainly I want to check can leaving antenna circuit broken cause damage to any other vehicle circuits, battery or any other components indirectly later?

Yes, the navigation system uses the antenna so that system may be affected.
