Was driving at 35 mph and all of a sudden LOUD engine surge and car jumped ahead. Luckily we were far enough from car in front of us. Dangerous situation. Happened once before in parking lot, right after getting car in right position, ready to turn off.

Did engine RPMS come up? Where you accelerating or at cruise? Surge is a motion and Loud is a sound could you explain?

we were driving at 35mph and all of a sudden the car made a loud noise like revving the engine and then it jumped ahead. scared me and my husband. came out of the blue-good thing no one was close in front of us.

Difficult to diagnose over internet but seems the transmission is slipping allowing engine to REV up then when it reengages car lurches forward. Check trans fluid and recommend take in and have this looked at
