The P0606 deals with the internal microprocessor conditions within the engine control module (ECM). The code could set if there is a problem with the processor or if it isn't properly programed. As far as a separate ECM for the steering, no there isn't one. However, if your vehicle has speed sensitive steering, the ECM plays a role in its function. Since the rack is new, pressures may be off and causing the processor to randomly malfunction.
As far as the. C1414, this seems to be a common problem. It involves the electric steering servo motor. From the research I have done, it seems there is a recall and should be taken care of under warranty by the dealer. Keep in mind, the servo motor may be causing the problem with the ECM
