I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta that has 65,000 miles. I drive a lot. The catalyc converter went in the car. Thank goodness there is a warranty on the car. But this is not the only trouble that I have had with this car. I had to replace the part that keeps the rear driver side window from sliding down. The starter had to be replaced. The car is serviced by the same Ford dealership in which I purchased the car. I have leased 5 cars from this dealership since 1999. This car I decided to buy.
To make a long story short I decided to try to trade the car. The pay off for my car would be $12,000. I was told that because there is 65,000 miles on it that I wouuld have to put a down payment that could range from $1000 to $2500. The car payment for the 2014 Ford Focus that wore a sticker price of $26,000 would cost me $450.00.
Needless to say I am VERY disappointed in the dealership and the car. I feel that I am trapped in a car that should be deemed a lemon. So will the catalyc converter hold up and die againHELP!

That's it? A catalytic converter, a starter, and a window regulator in two years? Half the Ford owners in the country would be thrilled to trade places with you. I'm not sure what you're upset with. You have a used car with a lot of miles on it. It's worth half of what you paid for it. The dealer is asking for an uncommonly low down payment.

Lemon laws vary by state, but in general, a car is considered for a manufacturer buyback when it has been repaired for the same thing three times or when it has been out-of-service, in the shop, for a specific number of days. What you have described is completely normal for any car, and certainly no reason to be upset. You've had far fewer problems than most Ford owners. Be thankful you weren't tied to a GM dealer for those repairs.

This is one reason car dealers get undeserved bad reputations.
