This problem only recently has occured. Maybe in the past three months. The keyless door locks work just fine. The headlights flash indicating that the car is either locked or unlocked. However, the horn does not produce it's usual beeping sound indicating that the vehicle is locked. Too, the steering wheel horn does not work either. However, a few days ago, as my wife exited the car, she depressed the lock button on the remote and the car let out a sluggish and somewhat muted beep. What can be the issue?

The horns on these vehicle are poorly made and are usually why the horns do not work. There are two horns a high tone and a low tone horn. Both horns are located behind the front bumper/grille area. I test the horn with diagnostic tools but you could pull the horn relay and jump terminals labeled 87 and 30 together to operate the horns manually. If no noise is produce further diagnostics is needed. But if you get muted odd sound from the horns then it's probably safe to say the horns are the problem. Let me know if this answered your question or if you have any other questions. Talk to you soon, Ty
