I have a 2008 mitsubishi lancer es. It has an automatic transmission. I want it to be 5- speed but im not willing to go through the trouble of finding another car or trading in etc. My 2 questions are how much would a transmission swap be and would it affect anything other than the transmission? Cause im trying to buy other parts for the car and I dont wanna buy them first only to be told they are not compatible with the manual

Engine Computer, wiring harness, Body Computer, instrument cluster will be different. The radiator will be different but you just don't use the transmission cooler if it's built in. Crankshaft may need to be drilled for the pilot bearing. That requires its removal to take it to an engine machine shop.

As someone who has swapped a few engines and watched people swap transmissions, I can tell you with 99 percent chance of being right, your car will end up with a "For Sale As Is" sign in the window after you give up and the car is wrecked. Experienced mechanics who know more then I do wouldn't attempt this swap.
