2008 Mercury Sable Back up sensors

My Backup sensors quit working. The button to turn them on shows they are off but it won't let me turn on... Ive cleaned them by it didn't help.... I don't know where to check to see if there is a fuse. I've looked in my manual but it doesn't say anything about not working...
