Additional clues or observations are needed to come up with a good recommendation. In particular, does the steering wheel change position or do you have to counter-steer to keep the vehicle going straight? Does it pull to one side at any time on a normal flat road when going straight?
The way you described it, I'd first suspect a worn control arm bushing but those usually make a clunking noise, and they will shift back and forth while you're driving. The steering and suspension systems should be inspected at a tire and alignment shop. They're experts in finding these things.
