Squeaking sound

When I am driving there is a squeaking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. It sounded like my brake pads were worn down and were rubbing against the rotors. I took the car in and the mechanic said the pads were fine. The sound is now on and off. It stops once I apply the brakes.

Check the wear indicators on the pads. They may have been bent.

There is a brake senser on the pads. Check to see if it is bent and touching the rotor. Also, make sure the backing plate behind the rotor isn't touching the rotor. I would double check the brake pads if the noise stopps when you apply the brakes.
